Infotep and Ministry of Education agree to coordinate education for good jobs

Television personality Mike Rowe, who campaigns for training kids to be employable in the trades, such as carpentry, air conditioning, electricity, plumbing and welding, would be really happy with this news. The National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (Infotep) and the Ministry of Education have signed an agreement whereby the Infotep will bring its vocational training program to regular high school students in their schools.

The plan is to provide the public school graduates with new skills so these can more easily enter the workforce.

Students will receive training in trades as part of their high school studies. Through this program they will acquire valuable training in real-life technical skills and be able to participate in industrial scenarios more easily.
