Not required for permanent residency renewals. To tie in with Cavok's post, I had to get the insurance for my first temporary renewal in 2019, and don't recall if it was a part of my initial temporary residency. And for others who may be seeking info on various residencies, the link to the Migracion public site I posted in #4 also has good breakdowns of that is required for each.Is this insurance required for permanent residency renewals? I've never bought insurance.
I managed to get through the process to get the policy assigned - BUT THE BUTTON TO CLICK TO PAY DIDN'T WORK. I emailed them and the reply I got back says I can pay at a BANRESERVAS. I'm going to try that today. I have a confirmation that indeed a policy has been assigned to me ( I even have the policy # ) but alas no actual copy of the policy. Vamos a ver. When I did mine in November, it was BanReservas, as was the year before. There is a link on the Migración application page, but I had to send a few messages to get the quote and payment info. Not as simple as clicking and paying, but nothing with Migración is. It also would not let me pay for the application itself online, even with different browsers, devices and days. I had to pay in person at SD Migración and that made the whole process from entering to leaving take 5.5 hours. But the new Cedula place was less than 20 minutes.
