A three-student team of INTEC in Santo Domingo won the first place during the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Caribbean Finals 2024 held at the Universidad de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This is the most prestigious contest for university students focused on solution of algorithmic problems..The winning team was made up of Diana Lantigua Bello and Raimond Vargas Hernandez who study software engineering at Intec together with Mark Benitez Kernogo who studies data sciences at the Santo Domingo university. They competed against teams from the Caribbean region, including eight Dominican teams and 15 teams from Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and Antigua and Barbuda.
