Intec to present solutions to sargassum in French scientific congress

The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (Intec) has announced that its ResAgro-Sargazo project, focused on managing sargassum seaweed and agricultural waste, will be showcased at the One-Ocean Science Congress 2025 in France this June 2025.

Intec is one of the local universities that is working on finding solutions to the sargassum seaweed impacting Dominican coasts and beaches.

Funded by the French Embassy in the Dominican Republic and implemented by Intec, ResAgro-Sargazo is making strides in its objectives, according to the project’s second steering committee meeting held at Intec. The meeting saw representatives from France, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic in attendance.
