I wholeheartedly agree that, if one is not presenting with type 2 diabetes, semiglutide, as a "designer" drug or one that is used to treat weight loss (which is not proven, although creates a prolonged sensation of satiation) is highly risky. IMO it is akin to a weightlifter taking anabolic steroids(not for health reasons, but for cosmetic effects). If you do not present with insulin production deficiency, and proceed to take a black box pharmaceutical that has only been known to produce feelings of satiation as a secondary effect, you are guaranteed endocrinologic issues down the line. That is if you don't develop insulin resistance or suffer an attack of lactic acidosis in the meantime. Caveat emptor.
I can affirm it works very well.
And I found out after 7 months of using I lost around 7,5-8 kilo’s, LDL much lower and steatose vanished.

Saw a story the other day about the ¨Ozempic face¨. They say it makes you look weird and older.

I'm sure you're a qualified physician!
“one that is used to treat weight loss (which is not proven, although creates a prolonged sensation of satiation) “

I like your fine way of discussion but I am not, as you probably understand, but I reacted in this part of your comment.
It is proven…it works.

My doctor prescribed it for me (I take metformin), but I decided not to take it after reading side effects. I’ve already got thyroid nodules that have been biopsied several times, and had pancreatitis a few years ago. Not worth the risk.

That wasn't question!
Its Extremely TRENDY right now on all Social Media Platforms
.. so among the Wealthy or at least Well off in the DR, I am 100% Positive that its very Popular .

Among the Poor, in the campo, playing Banca every day .. not so much .
Common sense . no research is needed to prove it .
When in History did Dominicans not follow what was very trendy ?
especially if it involves their appearance .

His meds seem to be working for him...yours seem alittle off balance 😀 are you a Certified Critic also 🤔
Somehow we've digressed from a thread of Ozempic as a weight loss treatment into this defensive posturing of yours. It's super clear this diabetes type 2 insulin regulator was not intended for weight loss treatment. If you want to back up your DR1 bromance with Fulano, please keep me out of it sir. I stand behind my opinion that, if one isn't presentating with diabetes 2 or other insulin deficiency, then taking this black box pharmaceutical is very risky. That said, have a blessed day!

If you are on metformin then it was prescribed for you for diabetes 2. I think we should always be alarmed when black box pharmaceuticals are being pushed by big pharma (as @jd426 mentioned above) as something used in "cosmetic" mode which was not the developed, tested and approved intention of the drug. It is in fact available in DR, and I sure hope physicians are responsibly prescribing it!

True, but the metformin is working as it should. He prescribed the Ozempic to help me tackle the battle of the bulge (I was supposed to stop the metformin when I started the O).

I agree with you. I think some people will regret taking it “later”.

Clearly those with diabetes can be helped by it but taking it just for vanity reasons, I just do not see it as a good thing to do.

Please do not take it out of the context.
You said you were not sure it works. It does.
All your other opinions have nothing to do with me.
