Thank you Chris. Tonight we have Newton's Third Law of Motion morphing into a circus, only I'm not sure if it's Fred Karno's or Cirque du Soleil. :cheeky:

Clave Digital has a long report. Summarising, it says that although the investigation team into Fiscal Ceballos's killing accumulated some evidence of the Fiscal's involvement in the extortion of a person who wanted his criminal past removed from the computer, they did not recommend further investigation of this. It would appear that Fiscal Ceballos' role was to introduce the person to an Interpol agent who could perform the task and the 400,000 pesos fee was mostly for this agent. There is also more information about the recorded conversations organising hits on known drug dealers. The Attorney General also quoted journalist Teresa Acosta's testimony about the person she supposed was the Interpol agent being in Sosua on the night the tragedy occurred. It would appear that Clave had been asked by Fiscal Bolivar Sanchez not to publish the name of the Interpol agent since he preferred to wait for the Attorney General's permission after the President had received a report on the matter. According to Clave the AG did not mention this matter and assured the paper he had no interest in these details. There are detailed reports where Thom?s Grullart, the ex-police chief of Sosua, complained that people arrested by the police were freed by Fiscal Ceballos.

Perhaps the most interesting information is that pertaining to the Canadian pathologist in Santiago, Dr. Sylvain Fontaine. He is alleged to have been involved with three others in 2004 in arranging for the arrest of a Canadian woman on a drug charge and having said he 'paid' US$20,000 for her release, which she then owed him. Despite this he was appointed as the forensics chief because of his close friendship with a General who recommended him to the Chief of Police, Santana Paez, who appointed him. The Chief of Police was present in October 2006 when Dr. Fontaine was sworn in as a Dominican citizen. Now the Procuradoria is saying that Dr. Fontaine lied about his qualifications and that he was in fact a naturopath ( a practitioner of drugless (!) therapy) and not a pathologist. This, however, should be easily checkable one way or the other.

I always tend to notice the non-sensational bits which are mentioned in passing. From this report it would appear that the President does know about this case. In fact he was presented with a report after the name of Interpol was mentioned.

More details in Clave:

Dominican Robin Hoods.

I'm sensing a movie, coming out of this, then a "novela" type mini series.
It's appears every bit as complex as Watergate, maybe even more.
Everyone's involved, nobody has clean hands, and it all comes down to one thing.
DRUGS.
The dealers, the importers and all the police & government employees/officials who protect the industry.

Ever wonder why the locals tolerate the drug vendors in their neighbourhoods?
Ever wonder why they don't just gather up a group, and go pay a visit to the local drug dealer, and give him 4 hours to pack his stuff and leave?

I thought it might be out of fear, and fear does play a role, but that's not the real reason.
It's so ridiculous, it's hard to believe.
It's a type of Robin Hood syndrome.
The drug dealers are their friends and benefactors, at times.
The decent neighbours, kind of like/respect/fear the drug dealers.
The drug dealers don't have real jobs, and they live there in the communities, socializing, spending money in the local colmados and stores, maybe helping out some of their poor neighbours, buying them a meal, playing dominos with them, and last, but not least, THEY HAVE POLICE CONNECTIONS & PROTECTION !!!!

And they're back to calling him a fumigator.
When you think about it, a fumigator is probably what's needed here, as it's beyond what a fly swatter could do.
The only problem is, if they fumigate the whole country, who'll be left?

So it turns out that the pests are now trying to fumigate the fumigator.

What else is new!

The movie with Johnny Depp has nothing to do with this case. It is about the recent poisoning of the Russian spy.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge about the entertainment industry Mirador. ;) and thanks for the link. Actually in a way I think the plot dilutes with the Clave piece. Add in a cast of extras, two of them named gringos & I'm not sure how this all links to the Fiscal's death but you gotta love the way all the people who gave evidence to the enquiry are now coming out and saying 'what I really said was........'
Including one of the investigators!

Isn't that interesting.
A government employee, saying that Ceballo did actually work to take down the drug dealers and the points of sale.
Does he have a death wish, or maybe he figures that there are enough good guys in the justice system, that they can take on the bad guys?

Strange But Interesting Remarks

A PN coronel delivered a document to an enquiry commission into the death of the killed state attorney of Sos?a Te?dulo Ceballos Pe?al?.
The officer had taken part in the action which resulted in the killing.
Furthermore the report reveals that at present the Italian mafia of New York is operating in the country and following up 'commercial interests'.
They are said to be watched by the authorities in their movements as well as the Russian mafia...

The article also gives several names of various nationals who are accused of child pornography, trading drugs and traficking illegals out of the country.
