The National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) held a workshop on Smart Mobility Innovation to explore how technology can be used to transform and streamline passenger transport in Greater Santo Domingo, including a master plan for traffic lights.
The workshop on mobility systems formalized a previously signed agreement between the two institutions.
The event was led by Intrant director Milton Morrison and JICA country representative Sakaguchi Kota. Earlier this year, they signed an agreement that paved the way for the seminar. The workshop took place at the High Technology Laboratory of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), which is also a part of the agreement.
