Hi I am new here and have not been to DR in over 25 years, Does anyone know if the electric plant that was installed between Purerta Plata and Costambar is still there. I loved to go to Costambar then they installed that massive smoke stack which went up the side of the hilltop and roared with noise and exhaust.

The plant is gone and so is the hotel that shut down because of it.
