This is the subject of two different discussions on Facebook. Does anyone here have any knowledge of this or heard any news in that direction?

A dictatorship? No.
Financial ruin due to the fact these criminal
politicians running this country into the ground? Yes.
For crying out loud, they want to pass a RD$997 billion
budget for next year. This would be the highest in the
nation’s history and I think it safe to say, billions of it
will be stolen and unaccounted for.

On the other hand it is good for expats. Plenty of cheap labor. Desperate for ANY income at all.

Forgive me for saying so but I fail to see the good in any of it.

You can pay $1/hour to your housekeepers, cooks, gardeners, cleaning staff, taxista. And they are happy and thankful. "No good in it at all"?

for those of us that don't have housekeepers and cooks, and can still identify with the working classes, they might be the ones he's referring to. Christ on cracker.

That is true. Every barricade always have two sides. One wins. Other loses.
Or you want to accuse ME of the total corruption of this Government? No. It was not me who made it corrupt.

My money comes in USD and will continue to
come in USD. Not all too concerned about who
sweeps the streets, cleans houses or washes the
dirty underwear. I've no dog in this one.

You do if there is a "January 1 Triumph of the Revolution" as in Cuba.

Hard to believe with Cuba and Venezuela as examples [of left wing dictatorships], a dictatorship would be tolerated. I just can't fathom how that happens.
There, I fixed it.

Now, Trujillo had a right wing dictatorship.
