Any reason to liuve in the DR besides sex?

Are you kidding Criss? Of course. How about the weather? It must be nice to have sex outside year round. Also the beautiful beaches. Isnt it nice to have sex on the beach in the DR? Also, the presedentes. I love drinking about 8 or 9 pequenos and then having sex on the beach in the beautiful weather year round. Dont you agree?

Larry

PS Just got back and planning my next trip already (No more earthquakes please...It was disturbing seeing azb standing in the street in his superman underwear at 1am)

If you don't like it here....

If you don;t like it here then PLEASE GO! If its only for the sex then I feel sorry for you. This country is beautiful. The people are beautiful. Life here is beautiful( if you can put up with the sweating, the tigres, not being able to make a living, the driving, and trying to do business here)
Other than all that its great here! And you can have a beer or your drink of choice outside, under the stars. If its because of the sex, whatever. But really you have to admit this place gets ya for some reason that we who live here can't really explain.

LMAO. Very funny Larry! Sorry AZB didn't bring you by for a round or two. As to the Superman underwear, you should count your blessings you weren't rooming with me or Crisco. We jump out of earthquake infested houses au naturel!

Whats up with nobody cares..Larry

Suarez you have a good point..The US is for making money..and a hectic life..I am sure the DR is a great place to live for watching the sunsets at the beach...or men as old as gramps (AZB?) chasing young women..etc..Would be a hoot JUST to people watch in the DR from the people who post on here......
As for the Superman underwear..Really AZB I told you that you act like a boy after the girls..Just proved my point..Real men sleep au-natural...:) AZB have you committed suicide yet? Maybe they can bury you ass up in your superman undies..What a sight..:) PAM

Goatfarmer, posting for the sake of posting...

"I am sure the DR is a great place to live for watching the sunsets at the beach...or men as old as gramps (AZB?)" goatfarmer

You have never been to DR, so save your imaginations. Life is not all that rosy if you don't have money in DR or anywhere else for that fact. The people who enjoy a comfortable life in DR are the people who have foreign money or are able to make a good living in pesos. You also have to have good contacts and learn how to assimilate in the DR culture (may it be a chopo culture, all depends on where you live and with whom you socialize with). The rest are simply poor and depended on others. The poor don't share the same views as the gringos who come here with pocket full of greens.
Goatfarmer, before you post your next fantasy here, please tell us how much time have you spent in DR? wait, have you even been here?

P.S. the superman underwear was a joke from Larry, I use Polo (Ralph Laurent) boxers. Larry was the one in superman undies. hahahaha

The DR is an enchanting place, yet I have to agree, if you do not have a good income life can be hard. It is a place better enjoyed by those who have the means. Having said that, it is always a refreshing thing to me to drive through the pueblos and see so many poor people in such dire need who are so happy and content with their lot in life (I believe we can learn a lesson or two from them). It is humbling to see the simplicity of these people.

PAM

I said I am sure it would be a great place to watch sunsets etc..I have seen the photos on DR1 etc..I never once said I had been there..Although I have been to many other places similar and get the feel of Island life from them that can not be too far off..
You AZB think you know everything about the DR..Are you married or living with a Dominican? Do you have any family members there? Are your children of Dominican descent with 1000's of relatives in the DR? No I did not think so..
I have many acquaintences and relatives of my husband who I talk to each Monday afternoon for the past few years...I have been researching the place for my upcoming move to the DR...You are so bitter for someone who gets so many women..YEAH...I post because I want to...And if it bothers you GOOD FOR YOU! You are not that busy as a chiropractor if you have time to worry about what I do all day..LOL Maybe you are some Quack..
And Ralph Lauren would be embarassed to know you wear his clothes..I shutter at the thought myself.. Funny that you should know what type of undies other men wear...:) PAM

Totally off thread (this post screams . . . delete me)

Pam, do you have a choice of where in the DR you might move too? Close to relatives on your husbands side I know is a determining factor, but is there a location already selected, and if you wanted another area might hubby agree?

-Lee

PS: Before I try to sell you on anything, I want to undersand what your plans are.

Let me jump into the middle of this!!!!!

Pam,Until you walk a mile in our moccasins, your information about the DR,is all "Hearsay",and therefore inadmissable on DR1!You have the option to give your opinion of what you "think" life might be like here, but you know what they say about "opinions"!!!
After you have lived here for several years, doubtful, your opinions will carry some weight, until that time,I suggest you read more about life here, and post less. Please don't get all upset, but it only makes sense. I can read all about "childbirth, talk to thousands of women with babies, but would you really want to take any advise I give you about the experience??
"AZB" is a pretty good looking young man.He has a huge personality, and I'm sure that lots of women, especially Dominican women,(who like their men "Larger Than Life") find him attractive, even lots of men say he has a "Nice Ass"!
"AZB" not only "Talks The Talk",he,"Walks The Walk"!!!!!He "calls em like he seez em",you can take him or leave him! "WE" are stuck with him! He has paid his dues in the DR,and is one of the family! Not many can say the same! CCCCCCCCCCCC

OK GUYS....

Hey Lee, I am thinking of going to Yamasa' or maybe just outside of Santo Domingo or Santiago..need some conviences.. Yamasa' is where my husband is from..Monte Plata Region. May decide somewhere near the ocean when I get there..Really just have to see.
OK CC If you notice I only usually comment on something that I know about the DR..Where to find info..Such as how to ship a dog..I never act like I am from there..
My info is not Hearsay.. My inlaws are there, I speak to my brother in law every Monday and I would take their advice over many DR1ers to include the much beloved AZB..He is not from DR and therefor is an outsider no matter how good looking he thinks he is..I have seen his photo :(
If you or anyone wants to dismiss my posts as hearsay that is fine. I am qualified to post on teh Dominican men and women as I have first hand knowlege of them even though I do not live there..If you notice ANYONE with a brain can know that the DR WOULD BE a good place to live to see the sun sets..THAT is what I said. I never once said I was from there, been there etc..I have lived on other islands and countries that are as much if not worse off that the DR..Phillippines for one.
If you think my comments are not valid just ignore me..Others have! :) Pam

Criss Colon...Dear man you asked the question "Is there any reason to live in the DR except the sex?" My reply was that the sunsets at the beach, people watching would be a hoot..That does not imply that I have been there, live there or know ANYTHING except what is readily Common knowlege...I ignore 90% of the BS at flows from DR1ers who live in CANADA etc......Why should mine be any different? I see most do not live there but vacation there..Hardly gives most the ability to be experts ya think??

many of us may not like the words ABZ chooses to use, but in everything he says(about the DR) there is truth. Certainly perceptions, you, Pam, may gather, through talking with relatives, is certainly not what you would gather, if you actually lived there. Each time I go to Jarabacoa, and i go every year for 2-3 weeks, my knowledge of Dominicans and Dominican lifestyle grows. Even though I'm married to a Dominicana, who is well educated, and very perceptive to the faults of her country and its citzens, I can't call myself an expert on Dominicans. I'd listen to ABZ's Advice because he's living La Vida Loco.

You have to look up " hearsay",or else I do!

Cause I think "Hearsay" is something told to you by a third party,ie.your relatives in the DR!Here is a good rule to follow reguarding the DR;Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see!

"AZB" is much better looking than his picture on DR1! I would call him "CUTE"!
Just remember that he is from Pakistan, where MEN are MEN,and the Goats are NERVOUS!!!!ccccccccccccccc

Believe me..

I do not imagine I know anything about living in the DR..I simply make comments when it is something I know about much as many other DR1ers do..I do not doubt what AZB says..He is just always riding me about anything I say. Good for him to have good info. I read the DR1 forum for info..
I post on general things..Look at the question of this thread..You do not have to be from DR or been there to know you would like to live there for the weather, beaches etc..Why is that so hard for you guys to get past? I do not live there, never been there and GUESS WHAT? I think people live in the DR for more than the sex...That is what I said..the sunset on the beaches, people watching..Not once did I think I am from there etc..:) PAM

If you are trying to discourage people from coming there you may be doing a good job of that though....

Pam the goat farmer who knows from a distance (moccasins not included)

It is eary, almost creepy, that Pam should mention sunset watching when she has never been here. Make my hair stand on end, cause that's what I like to do, watch the sunset around Puerto Plata and watch the funny cloulds around the moutain change shape as the sun sets. How could she have possibly known (the whole tought of it is freaking me out as I type). But I agree with Criss I can't see how you can comment with out having lived like Criss, so do fly down to DR one day and bring your money and Viagra ;).

WOW..

You people are so shallow..If I see the sunset over cotton fields each and every day and see that it is beautiful..I can know that the sunset over the beaches is equally beautiful..Look at the photos on the DR1 that YOU DR1 people post..See the beauty in the ocean..GOD ARE YOU THAT Shallow minded..
Itsnyder..your moccasins are worn out from where ever it is that you live...Do not worry when I move to the DR I will be sure to post my first hand knowlege of the sunset that I have just imagined all my days on DR1..It is so simple you people make everything into something it is not....:) PAM

JUST BECAUSE I HAVE NOT BEEN THERE TO SEE THE SUNSET WHY IS THAT CREEPY..Something very wimpy about you men..Just look at pictures maybe you too can get an idea..DUH
I still say that I think people would like to live in the DR for the sunsets, beaches and watching fat old men with young girls making fools of themselves...You do not have to live there to know that is what is going on there..

Thanks CC for the vote of confidence, you have saved me alot of valuable ink.
Apart from being rewarded with beautiful young girls (just for being hetero-sexual) we are blessed with many other gifts in this tiny caribbean island. If you just drive 5 minutes from my house you will see some of the most beautiful mountians this island has to offer. where else can you drive through beautiful valleys and mountians and stop and drink a cold cocomut juice straight from the fruit or make a kid climb a tree to get you some sweet mangos and guavas?
The friendliness of people, common people; how many times people have offered free food and drinks not to mention their homes etc? We were in a river (rio bao) and saw some people cooking a baby pig right there and then. If I had liked eating a pig, I would have stayed as the host was begging us to stay and have some drinks with his family. He then invited me to the following weeked to come and join him and his family in out door chivo cookfest. How many times I have been to a campo and came back with a trunk full of fruits and veggies for free? I can go on and on on the hospitability of the dominicans.
Then you have the beautiful beaches right with-in hour and a half driving distance from santiago. We have some of the most beautiful beaches and tropical coast line this side of the world has to offer. You can spend a whole day at the beach and not spend more than 5 dollars. You can enjoy your mini tropical vacation every weekend.
Beer is still 1 dollar in most bars and discos in santiago (compare that with the american bar / disco prices). The car can be hand washed for about 1 dollar and change in most parts of the island. The shoe is shined for about 5 pesos. The cable has 80 plus channels (less than 20 dollars / month) or you can have DSS installed and not worry about the authorities busting you for illegal connection. No traffic tickets if you know the police. If you do get it, big deal, its only a few dollar fine. No speed limit, no drinking and driving laws enforced. No points on the license, no IRS if you care not to pay income taxes.
No feminine liberation crap. No equal rights movement. Women know their place in society (the kitchen). Hahahaha, just kidding.

Speaking of women: we have of all color, shades and sizes and come in all sorts of mileage on their motors. We have the young exciting types or the old desperate types. They all have one thing in common: stiff competition. There are so many of them and so few of us "eligible single men". These women simply love to be in a male company. They take a good care of themselves, makeup, sexy clothing and perfect feminine presentation to drive us crazy. This is truly a country for men (single or married). You have your choice from rubias (looking like europeans) to india clara to morenas. We have them all here so you don't even have to travel far to find what rings your bell.

Apart from sweet women, we have great music. Latin music is hot music. They don't even need american music to dance too. Latin music and latin artists know how to light up the fire in a party atmosphere. Once you get hooked to latin music you will never settle for dull english music. If you have the right contacts you get to enter all the discos and concerts free in your local area.

compare to many countries, we have one of the best telecommunication system installed in this country (cedetel). We also have very stable internet connection in most part of the island. DSL was available in santo domingo way before it was introduced in many major parts of USA.

The fruits and veggies are almost pesticide free (organic). Since pesticides cost money, farmers don't use them. The fruits are all pesticide free in santiago.

Food is relatively cheap if you know where to eat in town. If you live here you can eat a fresh plate of meat (of your choice) with salad, rice and beans for under 50 pesos in santiago. Small glass coke bottle in a colmado costs 7 pesos.

If you are totally broke then call a friend and have him take you out to Monumento where you can enjoy fresh air, listen to free loud chopo music and if you are lucky, you get to meet a young chopa who would go home with you for free.
What a country (as CC says).

We NEVER discourage anyone from coming!

We do encourage coming with their eyes open.We have seen em come, and we have seen em go! Those who come prepared to sustain themselves with money do much better than those who come thinking that the DR is a "Cheap Paradise" 3 hours from New York!It takes money, brains, and determination to survive here, and lots of each!!!You will see! Then YOU will be the expert! CCCCC

Note: You don't need to bring "Viagra" they sell the Generic here for less than half of what "Viagra" costs.I can now have sex twice as often!!!!!!!
