Is there e-mail service at the Plaza in Playa Dora

in Playa Dorada? Can you use a computer to e-mail home from the Codetel? Do you know the cost? Does anyone know the best/easiest/cheapest way to phone from there to Canada? Do you know the approximate cost of a phone call out? Thanks!!

Yes there are email facilities - on the first floor where they sell tour excursions, there are 4-6 computers; if you sign up for a tour it's free, otherwise I'm not sure but it's not expensive. Cheers bar on the second floor has a computer with Internet, I think it's $5 for a half hour. Phone calls are expensive and there is no way around it! Use your calling card from home, calling from your room in a resort costs big time for service charges.

we were there in november 2000. the cost in playa dorada plaza was 3.00 u.s. for 1/2 hr. for a very slow computer ,but it worked.good luck!

Phone calls are very expensive

Making phone calls from your room is gonna cost a lot. I think it's $3 a call whether you get a busy signal or you actually get through. A collect call is $8.50 for the first minute and $1.49 for every minute thereafter. Bring a calling card and call home from a pay phone at the plaza.

Geez, you guys must be leaving soon...I'm sooo jealous Did you manage to get the birthday party planned?

Can you not go to a Codetel for like $2US/hr and access the Internet or call home for about about .40US cents/min? If not, this would be an advantage of vacationing in Barahona! Good luck, Sarah
