The next time I drive up north, I want to try to find a German Butcher for some meat and eat some Weiner schnitzel.

Is there still a place where I can find both?

FWIW, I really miss Vienna Caribe and their butcher shop here in SD on the Malecon.

OK, this one in La Mulata is the one and that butcher shop were the ones I was trying to remember.

Thanks, DrNoob.

And is that the only butcher shop now?

There are 3 German butchers in town, the one next to Sosua Ocean Village which is my favorite, then the one in La Mulata then the other one is behind Germany Restaurant next to Max car wash. The restaurant there serve meats directly from the butcher behind. They have good schnitzel there and their prices are very good. Other restaurants with good schnitzel are El Rancho (on the way day to Playa Alicia), Voramar in Playa Chiquita, Schntzel Paradise on Pedro Clisante (although they don't actually have many types of schnitzel on their menu) and also Parada el Choco, the Swiss restaurant in front of the entrance to Sosua Ocean Village. I find the prices, the service and the quality of food are best in Parada el Choco. They also give a complimentary shot of mamajuana which is some of the best mamajuana in town.

Additionally, Germany restaurant and butcher shop on highway 5, about half way between Playero & Pola(now Sirena Market), south side. They have a nice schnitzel.
I stopped there once back when I was doing my DNA test. I didn't know they had a butcher shop!

Just looking at the Photos I can also Cosign , that this is the real Deal ...
Not sure if they are going to make a Schnitzel for you ,. since it looks like a Real " Metzgerei"/ Butcher Shop , ONLY

ANDY at Hotel El Rancho ( close to Playa Alicia) if you want a Nice Schnitzel cooked for you.
He does it right . There is a Thread here in DR1 for best Schnitzel , and a couple of other places are also excellent, but one of them you have to drive up a ways
" Fat Hermans Wirzhaus", up in La Mulata
Germany bar and grill on Highway 5 was never that good . unless its changed owners .
There was a place on Pedro C, down across where Passions used to be .. also a small Biergarden type spot, was pretty good , but probably no longer there .
I would go to Andys or Fat Hermanns for Schnitzel .

I think it will be Hermanns to eat, Bavaria to buy meats to go.

If the German restaurant in Cabarate down from the Cell tower on the left is still open there is no comparison for what you want. Just tell Ricardo you want #108. He will know what you are talking about. Or check with Badpeice on 108.............

Sky is correct about the food at Bayerischer Hof in Cabarete. But they open at 4 pm most days, I doubt you want to drive home in the dark.
