Went to the museo de hombre in the cultural plaza today. My wife and I met one of the bosses at the front desk as I was paying for tickets. Had a wonderful conversation about the three statues in front De las Casas, Lemba and Enriquillo including other topics. She told me in 1972 they installed De las Casas and after pressure included the African and Taino. I think she said it took eight years. She also said the Rizeks in SFM have more Taino art then the museum and she has approached them about loaning some it to them. I'll see if I can speak to Hector Jose. I also wonder if they will ever change the name of the museum, the LatinX crowd I'm sure has something to say about that.

When I looked her up she coauthored, Jaragua no cae. Check out the website. Can convert to English. Fasinating.

I think that term expired along with "Breakfast Tacos" to refer to Latino people.
Not even most Latinos used that to refer to themselves. That was doomed from the day it started.

Interesting tidbit in the presentation about financing of of the Jaragua. They borrowed $400,000 dollars to build it. It costs $200,000. Trujillo keep the otherv$200,000.
