JetBlue and United request new routes

Requests for new airline frequencies presented to the Civil Aviation Board bring hope that travel is gradually recovering. Jose E. Marte Piantini announced four leading airlines have requested the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) approve new air services routes. He said this is a way they express their confidence in the sanitary and security measures taken by the Dominican government for travelers.

During the regular meeting of the JAC plenary, JetBlue, United Airlines, Copa Airlines and Delta made the requests for the new flights to the Dominican Republic.

JetBlue Airways wants to fly Newark/Punta Cana/Newark, with a frequency of four to seven flights per week.

United Airlines requested the inclusion of the Washington, D.C./Santo Domingo/Washington, D.C. route to operate daily from 17 December 2020 to 27 March 2021. This is a total of 101 flights. The airline would use a...
