The following link contains a video of Karim Abu Naba (in yellow shirt) and another guy that were in the helicopter that crashed in Barranquilla, Colombia. The good news is that both are still alive. The bad news is that both are injured. Karim Abu Naba is one of the wealthiest young Dominican-American of Middle Eastern descent. They are both on the ground, so it isn't clear if they can walk though one of the women helpers is heard saying "he couldn't move" but unclear who exactly she was talking about. When a teenager, Karim suffered a really bad event where he had to re-learn how to walk and affected his speech.

Another video. This time Abu Naba being taken in a stretcher to an ambulance. It seems he can move his legs or at least one of them. All three occupants of the helicopter threw themselves before it crashed. Apparently, Abu Naba has the least injuries of the three. Lucky guy.

This guy is crazy and always has been. Was he flying the helicopter? He will likely take full advantage of the publicity from this.

He tried to run for mayor of Santo Domingo. The whole premise was that he was going to turn the city into Dubai.

Here is a video of that endeavour. Interesting how he crashed the helicopter into the Ozama.

He got involved with politics a few years ago, including running for president (would had been the youngest guy to ever become president if he had won). He is still involved, but now behind the scenes since the other time his rivals came up with all sorts of things.

One of the signs when running for president are still visible in Google Earth Santo Domingo.

"Better to be crazy than a thief." lol Referring to traditional Dominican politicians with "thief." Many of his political rivals presented him as crazy.

Didn't he use to date Nicole Fernadez (now with Albert Pujols), daughter of Leonel?

Yes

Another video, this time in the hospital. It seems his injuries are minor. He even says he is not going to die until he fix the DR like El Salvador (Bukele’s “mano dura” approach is like by many Dominicans, especially how he attacked the Maras gang and removed San Salvador from the most dangerous cities in the world list) and Dubai.

Many young and uneducated Dominicans wholeheartedly believed him.

He did steal it, and he attempted to murder the lawyer Gustavo Mejia-Ricart after he was found guilty of stealing it.

Yes he did, he stole the Ferrari supposedly to impress her (she evidently said it was a pretty car and he went up to the guy who had the keys and said to hand them over and drove off in it. Gustavo Mejia-Ricart then worked for the guy who owned the car, took Abu to court, won, and when Abu came out of court he started pointing military grade weapons at Mejia-Ricart and saying he was going to kill him. Things were a little bit wilder in those days.

Stalked. Not dated.

That’s what I was told by people who knew her.

I hadn’t heard about the car theft and attempted murder. His mayoral run was enough to convince me of his integrity.

He will milk this crash for attention and likely announce another political run.

Such a stand up guy!

There's an article translated which pretty much summarises what happened. He falsified papers to steal a Ferrari Enzo valued at over US$ 1M and nobody stopped him as he was thought to be the boyfriend of Leonel Fernandez daughter. I heard that Gustavo Mejia-Ricart was involved in bringing Karim to justice and that's why Karim fired at him in the car-park of the court, it was something like that in any case. I believe that the case was settled and Gustavo withdrew the querella for quite a large sum of money, if my memory serves me well.

Karim's father is the one who made the money, he is another "child of extremely rich parent" who does pretty much whatever he wants, similar I guess to Paris Hilton or Priscilla Presley or so many others.

His father is the guy who sells asphalt to the government. Nuff said.

In this video he gives the reason why hecwoukdn't run for president again (people complaining to him from sun up to sun down, everyday; and that is as a candidate, lol).

He uses a helicopter all the time. Often times he simply takes a helicopter from Santo Domingo to say Jarabacoa just to buy chicharrones from some lady ans fly back to Santo Domingo and call it a day. lol In fact, in this video he flies from Santo Domingo to his private beach in Samana to have lunch. lol

28:27 (At 30:50 he speaks of the two times he went to jail in the DR, and including about the famous Ferrari that people say he stole but in reality he bought. Plus, Dominican politicians forced him into exile for 20 months, which he used the time to travel the world and that's the main reason he has been everywhere.) lol

I have a feeling the helicopter crash in Colombia will not stop him from getting in helicopters again.

Btw, he speaks like that because when he was younger he had an episode thst almost killed him. He had to re-learn to walk and other things, and his speech though improved never returned to the fluidity it was before that crisis.

His father was already a billionaire when he moved to the DR. As far as I know, he became a billionaire while living in the USA.
