Kickstarting the plans to develop Santo Domingo as a Unesco Creative City of Music

Twelve institutions signed a cooperation agreement on 10 June 2021 to promote Santo Domingo as a “Creative City of Music”, a designation granted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) in October 2019.

Culture Minister Carmen Heredia presided over signing the agreement at the Ramón Oviedo Gallery at the Ministry of Culture headquarters. Also signing were officials of the Presidency General Strategic and Special Projects Agency (Propeep), the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Dominican National Commission before the Unesco, the Dominican Municipal League (LMD) and city councils of Greater Santo Domingo.
