A truck driver from Santiago drowned at Playa El Rocon beach yesterday as reported in Detras del Rumor.

Was swimming there two weeks ago, love beach there,.One must be super cautious. I am truly surprised that more people don't drown there and especially in east Cabarete

I passed by the scene on the main road. It was right opposite the entrance to La Cienega so when I saw the stopped cars and people milling about I assumed it was a road accident because they are common there, what with the cars coming fast from Sosua direction and motoconchos racing across the road to pick up passengers. I was surprised to see a crowd of people looking out to sea until I was told what had happened last night.
