Labor Minister says PCR test limitations continue for private labs

Labor Minister Luis Miguel de Camps clarified during an interview with Edith Febles on Monday, 17 May 2021, that private labs continue to authorize only one free PCR test per affiliate a year. The announcement came following the National Social Security Council (CNSS) decision that ordered the Superintendency of Health and Labor Risks (Sisalril) to temporarily suspend the resolution that limited the performance of PCR tests. De Camps says there has been confusion over the ruling.

He indicated that the Public Health resolution continues to be in effect, with PCR tests being free and without limitation at select points in the public health network, not so in private labs or clinics.
