Don’t forget it’s the fight in the dog. My FIL had a Rottweiler which was afraid of chickens. Gave it away after a month.
I have still have one Schnauzer left, no adult will face mom at night, alert and agressive.

I have a wire-haired female terrier.
She's only about 40 lbs but her teeth are razors and no one, she does not know, would be well advised to not come inside the gates at night. Once she knows you she's the sweetest loving dog. And house trained and can be left alone.

And she can hear a fat man fart or a pretty girl sing from 300 yards away

Big dogs are higher food cost and bigger craps, if they are left inside the walls.

San Francisco has breeders for Rottweilers, Pits, Huskies and Shepherds, rare to find on the North Coast (big dogs kill chickens and much larger livestock, hard to keep fenced in on farms, surefire issue with neighbours), weird to hear about the one afraid of chickens :). If you do get a Rottweiler or Pit keep away from kids, cats, anyone weak or afraid of animals and a high fence and robust gate.

Ditto on the food costs. Unless you train to eat what you eat and supplement with a kibble and a raw chicken at least once a week you're looking at it's weight in food every 4-6 weeks for an active dog.

A full grown if you are talking about that pendejo Weiler. It would cry all night as well when raining.

There’s a mastiff breeder in Salcedo. I can try to track down the number if you’re interested in a dog as big as that.
