You basically do not have a clue. Below is just a quick summary

U.S.–Dominican Republic Military Cooperation

  • Military Training Agreement: In 2015, the Dominican Republic and the United States signed an agreement to strengthen military cooperation. This pact facilitates joint training exercises, particularly focused on combating transnational criminal organizations. It also outlines the framework for U.S. personnel's involvement in training, humanitarian efforts, and other mutually agreed activities within the Dominican Republic.
  • Beyond the Horizon Exercises: The U.S. Army South has conducted "Beyond the Horizon" exercises in the Dominican Republic, such as the 2014 mission in Barahona. These exercises involve deploying U.S. military engineers and medical professionals to provide services to rural communities, while simultaneously offering real-world training opportunities for both U.S. and Dominican forces.
  • The Dominican Republic sent a small contingent (around 300 soldiers) as part of the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq.
Do you really live here ???? I seriously doubt it. Have you ever been inside a Dominican Army Base ????
it,s a Joke ! My humble advise, who ever attacks the DR > RUN

Yes, I lived in DR for more than 16 years.
I have been inside a Dominican Army Base many times.

Who attacked the DR? Lol, grab a history book — it's practically a guest list of uninvited foreign powers. Spoiler: It’s not just one

well, well, well.... i would not have to much Faith in the Dominican Air force or Army in General.
All the Soldiers stationed in remote Post have to organize their Food Supply almost by them self.
They can't even manage basic Logistics.
Imagine Policia Nacional in different Clothing and than you get the Dominican Army.
dealing with porky over there in his treadmill is not rocket science and does not require a super power. Im not even going to comment on your underestimating of the armed forces, cant blame you for thinking the grunts you see in the streets are all we have to offer.

Should Haiti ever invade the DR, the only recent conflict that might be comparable is the outbreak of the second intifada in Israel.
Just to give you an idea; for the first three month of this conflict, the Bullet/ Dead Ratio (Israeli Bullet/ Palestinian Dead) was around 14,000 to 1.
In every imaginable conflict, the DR would run out of Ammunition in several Hours. I'm not even touching the Human Factor.
The only thing that will save the DR is a Phone call to Uncle Donald.

You underestimate the number of guns (and ammo) on the streets here.

I'd be more concerned about the Dominicans showing up time to fight 😄

To imply this little bug "Mr. Barbecue" has anything close to the level of protection that Putin has is preposterous. Uncle Sam could make a call at breakfast and by lunch time this guy would be toast. Same can not be said for Putin..
not even close.
Well, since Putin is mentioned in the thread, I really like and appreciate Mr. Putin because he didn't invite 20 million illegals into my country.

Supposedly, the translation of the video where Barbecue is on a walking machine isn’t correct. According to the guy in José Peguero’s platform, Barbecue is simply giving a review of the walking excercise machine in case someone is thinking of buying one. Excuse me for not thinking there is a very large market for walking excercise machines in Haiti and Haitians with the money to buy one are going to depend on the review of Barbecue.

I also find it interesting that he (the guy talking in José Peguero, not Peguero himself) is basing this on an análisis that was done to that video. The interest arises because that same vídeo has been shown here on DR1 and it’s widely known that several of the DR1ers have kids with Haitian women and quite a few understand Haitian Creole. Don’t anyone would think a while ago one or several of these people would had commented about that already? Not one has said anything regarding what is said by Barbecue in Haitian Creole.

Plus, originaly I thought if the video was in fact fake instead of real, by now someone would had commented that in this thread or at least put it’s legimitacy into question (something I did from the very beginning though never affirming if it’s fake or not because I don’t know if it’s, notice the title.)

The fact this isn’t the first time a thread to Dominican safety has come from Haitians in Haití (just look at the history) is what lead to the possibility this could be true. If it was of Barbecue threatening to invade Jamaica or Cuba, well not saying it couldn’t be possible, but Haitians have never invades those 2 places or anywhere else excepto the Dominican Republic on múltiple occasions.

Lastly, it’s interesting this response from the Dominican guy claiming the video is fake in José Peguero’s platform comes after the Mayor of Dajabón took it upon himself the intensification of deporting illegal immigrants from Haiti that settled in that town. The Mayor did said that he started the intensification due to 2 factors: 1) He considers Migración et al is too slow given previously he has asked for more help and haven’t received much from them and 2) the video of Barbecue’s threat to the DR.

I hope this isn’t another case when certain realities are lied about in the DR because it has to do with the massive numbers of illegal immigrants in the DR (such as the effect on wages -including the added cost of employees to employers that are eliminated by hiring illegal immigrants.) Some of it are part of economic theories which apparently are true everywhere in the world where capitalism exist except in tiny DR which apparently exist on a parallel universe.

One thing is undeniably true, the DR public education isn’t the best even compared to the typical public education in Latin America. The percentage of Dominicans with a less than ideal education isn’t small by any stretch of the imagination. It goes with the territory that some of those educated in the best schools/universities in the DR and universities abroad (where even what are considered normal universities there tend to outrank Dominican universities) will take advantage of the fact the average Dominican received a substandard education. Hence, denying things that are true everywhere capitalism exist.

Please help me understand that comment. I am trying to understand what that has to do with this.

I guess you two are right. People like NanSanPedro never existed and things like “life in Haiti isn’t very different from the DR” which has expressed by several current DR1ers like NanSanPedro and former DR1ers like Chirimoya have said in this very same forum.

I guess the next step is that many expats aren’t violating migration laws by simply overstaying the tourist card limit and simply paying the overstay exit fee.

First of all, NALs Nan is one, you posted "several DR1ers". As far as I am aware Nan does not have "kids with a Haitian woman" (and so what if he does). Second, this thread has nothing to do with overstaying a tourist card. But thanks for answering my question, it has nothing to do with anything.

Yes I did because there are several.

As far as I am aware Nan does not have "kids with a Haitian woman" }
I would say that isn’t the only thing you aren’t aware, but not being aware of something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

He has mentioned his kid for years on DR1, last Monday probably was the latest one.

(and so what if he does).
As you’re very much aware, that’s not the subject of the thread.

Second, this thread has nothing to do with overstaying a tourist card. But thanks for answering my question, it has nothing to do with anything.
This thread also has nothing to do with “DR1ers have kids with Haitian women,” but you are the one insisting to focus on that. It’s odd that a moderator leads a thread on a tangent and then complain it went on a tangent.
