I was also there yesterday. It is open. I wished we had another better hardware store on the NC though...My gardener bought something there this morning, so I think you may be mistaken. They are doing something to the front of the building, but I think it;s still open.
I'm not sure what people have against those stores(?). Ochoa and La Sirena /Jumbo are really just second-rate, limited selection versions of Home Depot/Lowes, and Walmart. I can't think of any place here that remotely resembles Autozone(?). I just ended up going on a scavenger hunt to four different repuestos before I finally found a windshield washer pump for my Toyota Camry. Think of how much time and money in gas and shipping fees you'd save if those places were here.Well, there's a contradiction!
I am sorry for my fellows Dominicans who makes a living using tools, they are so expensive in DR.People criticize Walmart for its cheap Chinese products. Well, La Sirena takes cheap, Chinese crap to a whole new level. I've never seen such junk in my life.
