Mike, you pressed "Like" almost quicker than i could press send on my post, some kinda magic??
haha.
seriously,
2 examples of what i name homecooking here on the East of DR, which i bet applies within the same range for all of the Isle.
lets take a "budget" of US$20.-, equivalent of 850.- dominican pesos.
Variation #1:
*** let the Mrs buy one whole Chicken, da veggies, a bit of rice and salsas, and a dish for 2 couples to enjoy a great meal is done, in the Oven, not talking crap form a Pollo Frito Place, (even that i am not against them, lol).
Variation #2:
*** buy at any beach location, or even at a supermarket(here you get the imported never fresh stuff) a few pounds of Dorado/Mahi, let the Mrs add the usual veggies, a salsa de coco, some rice etc.
both done with a 20 bucks budget, both feed 2 couples for a nice beach afternoon eat up, both are for a group of 4 adults cheaper than a ONE Person hamburger meal at any McD or Pizza Hut or Burger King or similar trash eaters places. both can be done at home, in da garden, on any beach, no need to drink some crappy pepsi cokes with da meat, you can dink what you bring with ya.
just as a little hint for peop`le who look for a reasonable tasy thingy, over a fast food killing bad taste stuff.
cheers
Mike
