Can someone help me understand the location of Gran Bahia Principe El Portillo All Inclusive? According to Google Maps, there are TWO of them - one in the heart of Las Terrenas and one a bit further east. I have seen Google Maps be very unreliable for other areas of DR too...

Oyster.com says the hotel is very isolated but the review seems to have been written a while ago.

I don't mind the isolation but I hope it is reasonably close to Rock'n Pirata for some... nightlife. If not close to that bar, are there other hotspots close to this hotel? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks.

the gran bahia is not walking distance from rockin pirate

try casas del mar neptuna

or casa robinson which are right around the corner

or the Alba Hotel if you think that you are going to need AC.. all right in the barrio next to the cemetary

you can rock with the pirates and dance til dawn at the bodega

and stagger back to your hotel

It is a few miles from the bar to the Gran Bahia .. easy enough on the back of a concho but not in the town.

They do have a bus but I doubt that it is gonna run at night.

sorry can't help with the location, but just an FYI... don't always trust the location labels on Google maps. Sometimes they're spot-on, sometimes they put things out in the ocean!!!

If it was only that easy. :knockedou If you zoom out a bit and look east, you will see another hotel with the same name. That appears to be it's true location based on other research I have done and the people who have replied in this thread.

It is literally in front of the Portillo "airport".

If you are entering LT from the mountain road stay on that road in LT. Turns into at ONE WAY road (stay right). This will follow the beach straight to El Portillo. Just a little out of town you will see the small airport on your right and just a little further down the road you will see the resort on your left. Go slow, narrow road with speed bumps.
