Mike, where do you rent from, I am looking for an apartment from January 14th/09 until the second week of March/09. Yours sounds fantastic. I was at Los Corales for the months of May & June, very nice apartments, I was just around the corner from the beach. It was about a 10 minute walk down the beach to where all the vendors are located. Or a 5 minute ride by moto-concho. I paid $1,100. a month plus electricity. But this time I would like one beach front. Mike if you could help me, it would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

sorry Claire,
Beach front for a short term rental is hard to find, if offered anyways.
where i live you need at least 6 month ahead payments for a minimum contract.
you?ve been at Los Corales in May, so you sure know el cortecito aside. check out the cortecito inn, just cross the street and you are on the beach, or Posada de piedra in cortecito right on the beach, they did a full renovation from up to down at the Posada, nearly finished.
but fully furnished appartments on the beach front for a short term rental and on such for under 1500-2000 per month plus deposits plus sidecosts i would not know about.

Place for living

Do you guys know any address or phone number where to ask for information about apartments that they rent long term, more than at least 5 months? I would like to get something nice....but not very expensive, as I will work over there. Thanks!

Thanks for the answers....I checked the Remax site, but those once are quite expensive....800US$ and up. I would prefer something cheaper....as I will be working there, also it doesn't have to be in the middle of Bavaro...can be in the Pueblo Bavaro, that I have read it's a bit cheaper there. I will try with Robert, maybe he knows some. Thanks once again! :)

don't expect pueblo bavaro to be cheaper than what you wrote above.
cheaper lodging is available in the area everywhere, but for such you have to arrive first and drive around and talk to those renters in person.
in case of pueblo bavaro:
where ever you plan to work, you would ned a car or such to move around, that would be extra costs.
anyways transportation costs are a big part of the monthly spendings in bavaro/pc.
good luck

Hi!

I'm planing to visit Punta Cana from 17.12. till 12.1. But I'm going to sleep in some apartment. Does anybody have experience with getting apartment in high season? I want to reserve it now so i'm looking on internet for them. The cheapest one is 1500 $ for a mounth. Is this good price for high season?

This my first time that i'm coming to Dominican Republic so I don't know good locations in Punta Cana. I'm looking for a locations full of partys and with good beach.

Has anybody have a number or internet address of some cheap and good apartments in good locations in Punta Cana?

Thanks!
I Have one just finished apartment for rent. I will be renting it trough the agency but i can influence the price. Let me know if you are interested.

Staying cheap in DR

Sounds like if you are just staying for three days an apartment will be an expensive alternative.

I stayed at Santa Maria del Mar in Aug for $750 for the month plus electric. Great place very close to the beach. However the rent for the week just about the same as the month and in off season. Leased through DR4rent.com. Great people helped me with everything!

There are cheap hotels in the area. Not luxurious but clean enough with security. $40 per night. Can't remember the name of the place I stayed, but it was right in Bavaro, just a moto concho ride to the beach and very close to Mangu. I saw it listed in the new Fommor's travel guide as well.

MikeF might know the name and have an opion.

Of course you will have to eat out. Not exactly cheap in El Cortecito.

in off season i could get you a AI in the middle of bavaro for around $75-$85.- per night, all food and all drinks aso included, sure right on the beach. to lodge in an appartment/condo is usually more expensive than an AI resort during off season if you count the rates for each single meal and drink aso. usually it is a different clientel lodging at an Condo than the visitors looking for the accomodations of an AI resort.
happy weekend

hi Sniper,
sorry, but after dec 15th all resorts are heavily booked, not to mention the typical overbookings.
i am not booking clients after that date til end january, because i could not guarantee the rooms. the overbooking mess i leave to the touroperators, ha ha.
and the rates i stated above been like i wrote for now, for the low season period, mid dec til end february you have to nearly double up the per person rates in PC for the cheapest spots, no limits upwards.
for end december i would highly recommend to make a booking very well ahead of time.
have fun
Mike

Pueblo Bavaro for $750.- a week is highly overprised, specially with their lately trouble in case of cable and water availability, i have a bunch of friends living there, one in a 3 bedroom house, completely furnitured(sp??) and an other in a 3 bedroom apptmt fully furnitured with pool, both with extra costs under 1KKK per month.
i would myself be interested in your Beachfront at Los Corales, from early year on throu springtime til summer i have since a decade regular sportfishing customers booking their boats as a package with lodging and some with air, too, there are every year some who ask about non-AI lodging at a decent place not too far from the Marina(los corales is just 25 minutes away), so i may be interested to see that place to bring it into the offers.
send me some fotos on my e-mail if you don't mind.
mike@mikesmarina.info

btw,
welcome to the world of DR1.
you'll love it
Mike
