My mother would like to transfer a property to me that originally belonged to my aunt, she died and it was transfered over to me grandparents, they recently passed away and left it to my mother. No title change was ever made since the house and lot have been in the family for many years, and my mother cannot find the papers that chronicle all the changes, we only have the first title. Does anyone know the process involved in getting a new title? My mother is one of 4 remaining heirs, all but one are in agreement as to the rightful owner, does this pose an Issue? Is there a website or registry to ascertain the status of a property without the aid of a lawyer? Thanks, Dan.
