President Luis Abinader was in Moca, a prime farming area in the northcentral province of Espaillat, for the celebration of the National Farmers’ Day. He spoke with pride on the extensive planting that has taken place since the start of his government in August 2020. “Today we can say that the Dominican countryside is sown and the feeding of the people is guaranteed,” he said.
The President indicated that his government has increased productivity, introduced reforms, injected financing and maintains a monitoring of the sector to guarantee the feeding of the population.
Abinader highlighted the significant increase in the production of rice, beans, onions and avocados. He also spoke of incentives for the production of coffee, cacao, mango, tobacco and other products demanded in the international market.
