Does anyone know what time their happy hour ends. Also do you have any drink or food recommendations. I think I am going to try it tonight.

I've never been inside but I know its quite an expensive exclusive little place, and I was told is the same owners as Marrocha next door.

So did you end up going papillionsprincess? And the verdict?

Expensive it is, VERY expensive.

Pretty good, too! Not your everyday Taco Bell kind of menu.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the bill.

Figured that would be the case given the place...

Spicy's is nice if you want Mexican but without the heart attack!! Corner of Churchilll and Pastoriza.

I just visited this restaurant tonight:

FOOD:
-> 7/10 in mexican authenticity and spice
-> though they charged extra for the super extra spicy salsa

SERVICE:
-> Horrible
-> For the price, lazy and slow, really annoying

ATMOSPHERE:
-> Loud and annoying (or maybe i'm getting old)
-> House music blasting (turn it up to 11?)
-> Musical choice strange considering the mexican theme
-> Long bathroom lines, filthy bathroom

PRICE:
-> 3300 pesos for 2 people dinner and drinks
-> not too expensive but would have preferred better service and quality
for that price
-> I did not leave a tip as I was so annoyed
-> everyone was so inattentive, I don't think anyone cared or noticed

May I suggest going to Blue Mall and getting a plato chimchanga o burrito for about RD$250 at Taco Maker-food looks half decent. Then you can talk a walk in the mall of see a movie and work it off if you can get past the weight of all the money left in your pocket.

I'm really surprised, sorry to hear about your experience. I have been twice I ordered the nacho platter which was pretty generous and another time a steak the food was good, the service to me was great, but I had the same waiter both times. The margaritas were not really that good but they have a 2 for 1 special but there are limitations on which drink you can get because they have to be the same price. Overall I did not see it as expensive but I guess it depends on what you order.

$3300 pesos is insane for Mexican food for 2! That would buy me a feast in Cali with lobster and all the good stuff! SD definitely needs a few more Mexican joints! Get some real tacos!

On a side note. We had a couple friends (Mexicanos) come stay with us in JD and they made ceviche de camarones, which we got cheap in SP, but couldn't find tostadas anywhere including SD supermarkets.
