The Central Electoral Board (JCE) just released a statement regarding the statistics that cover civilian activities registered on their books in the Dominican Republic for the year 2024.
It seems that marriages were more popular than divorces. Of course, these are the official numbers and do not cover all of the more casual numbers of those people who are “dating” or who are living together. There were 43,000 marriages and 27,000 divorces in the period covered in the report.
There were also more than 142 thousand births registered, and surprisingly, there were more little boys than girls (around 72.5 thousand to 69.5 thousand).
