Just ordered a new marbete for us online, my mother-in-law would be the one receiving it and holding to it until we get there. I saw earlier in this thread that the delivery will be done by a 3rd party company. They have obviously my mother-in-law's phone, any special things/instructions to keep in mind? I have not done this online before, always in person in POP but we'll only arrive to POP after the deadlines so I don't want to pay extra. It said up to 8 dias laborables to the interior etc.

In my experience, the guy who delivers will phone a day before to make sure you ( well MIL in your case ) will be home at whatever time the next day, to take delivery.

They ask for a copy of the matricula and a signature.

A few days after you take possession of the marbete, DGII will send a follow up email to make sure you got it.

Just following up on this, ordered the new marbete first time online, processing time was promised by DGII to be 8 dias laborables including delivery to POP, exactly so it was. My MIL received it just fine, just her ID was required at the moment of receipt. Everything including payment went smoothly. This is excellent, I feel very odd as first time dealt with the DR govt purely online and it went as smooth as I had done it in my home country. I usually trash talk the DR govt, but giving my compliments to DGII here, well done! Definitely doing this again next time...

Now when we get to POP, just have to put the sticker to the windshield and we're ready to go...
