Speaking of favorites... Enrique Iglesias

One of my favorites - for many reasons:

Full disclosure: I know one of the dancers. LOL

I was about 10 or 11 the first time I saw Celia on TV. "Lucha Libre" was on the Spanish TV station every Saturday morning, and I loved pro wrestling ("En mi casa toman Bustelo" was my favorite commercial jingle). It was love at first site; she was so colorful and happy and beautiful. Her mausoleum in the Bronx has glass walls so that fans can look in and see her crypt along with memorabilia. I know it's not a D.R. related post, but I think Celia deserves special dispensation.
Celia went a lot to SD because she said of all the places she went to, it was the place that most reminded her of Cuba which she long to go back but couldn’t as long it remained communist.. Plus, she made it big due to a Dominican that was in the music industry that promoted her work in the USA. Near her tomb is the tomb of her friend, Johnny Pacheco who was born in Santiago, DR.

She also sang several songs about the DR and where she mentions the DR.

The same with Celia Cruz, Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Fernández, Paulina Rubio, Ana Gabriel, etc.
Call me weird, before even knowing my wife, Juan Luis Guerra was my motivation to travel to Santo Domingo to see/visit it. I was (still am) a fan of his "fashion style" and have always really liked his older style music... My first "Spanish test" was trying to follow "Como Yo"... Paulina Rubio was a big name in Europe about two decades ago, the rest of the list my wife introduced me...

I am surprised nobody mentioned that he was married to Jennifer Lopez. I never knew what she saw in him. I liked his music but could not stand to look at him.

I watched Maid in Manhattan the other night after reading this thread. That film with JLO must be 15 years old or better. Film is not bad.. Funny in parts. Netflix.

She's OK in films, but she never "owns" a character. It's always J-lo acting as..

I'll say one thing, from certain angles cameras love her.

Women and men are different when it comes to the reason they choose to be with someone. Notice those that wonder where was the attraction between them, it’s always “what Jennifer Lopez saw in Marc Anthony” and not “what Marc Anthony saw in Jennifer Lopez…” Lets face it, there are many qualities to a person, most which are invinsible since they require to actually know the person since they have to do with things such as personality. Physically Marc Anthony is simply not very attractive while Jennifer Lopez, well just look at her. If Marc Anthony was another Denzel Washington or Brad Pitt or any other considered to have good looks, no one would be wondering what Jennifer Lopez saw in him.

He was giving Jennifer Lopez a treatment he doesn’t give to everyone, hence she saw in him with others didn’t. If everyone got the same treatment from him, then no one would wonder what she saw in him since it would had been obvious. Except for gold diggers (which is definitely not the case here), no one pairs up with someone they don’t like.

Marc Anthony is married to a 25 year old now isn't he? Only 30 years difference between them. And Madonna is 66 and has a 25 year old boyfriend. Maybe all these chicos who keep telling me that age is just a number are right.

If you can, watch Out of Sight with George Clooney and JLo. Well written, based on a book by Elmore Leonard, who is known for his dialogue. (Jackie Brown was based on one of his books too)
