The Dominican Republic has two track athletes qualified in the finals of the Paris Olympic Games set for Thursday, 8 and 9 August 2024. Marileidy Paulino and Alexis Ogando were on the 4 x 400 m mixed relay that had won silver in the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. Marileidy Paulino won the silver medal in the 400m in the Tokyo Olympics. She is the current world champion in the event.
27-year old Marileidy Paulino, running in the 400 m semifinal of the Paris Olympics, did what she had to do and qualified among the final eight in the race. Paulino is coached by Cuban Yassen Pérez Gómez. She had won the silver medal in the race during the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
The final race is set for Friday, 9 August 2024 at 2pm (Dominican time).
