It came shrink wrapped in a box. So yes it was smaller than the picture.

You can find them here in many different stores, Ikea may be the best option but personally I would buy one on Amazon. All of the beds in my house have mattress toppers that I purchased on Amazon. You have a huge choice and you can select the one most recommended by customers. A king size topper can run between 6-10 pounds and so shipping won't be cheap, but at least you have the opportunity to select something that is good quality.
