In many countries across the world the penalty for "human trafficking " is severe. I would think the charges against the driver would be a rather simple to prove. Hopefully the laws are being re-written under Luis so that the charges will have some muscle behind them.

Existing laws probably just need to be fully enforced for trafficking humans and regarding all illegals.

Sounds right but I have not read the laws as they have been written in the past. I suspect that not only should they be enforced but the "enforcers" be subject to a much higher level of supervision and censure.

Immigration laws were written by the party that more or less turned into the PRM of today who has the Presidency now.
They were virtually ignored by the PLD for 16 years. The PRM is still doing a poor job of enforcing them. Just slightly better than the PLD.

I don't know the human trafficking aspect of those laws, or if they are laws from another aspect of the government.
