i think i posted this before, but here goes, once more. i was at a caseta on the malecon one day, and two twenty-somethings came in with their kids, a boy and a girl. they were probably 7 years old. the place was packed. the girl leaned up against the bar area, and the boy proceeded to give her a serious dry hump, replete with some ill-intentioned pelvic thrusts. the mothers were both dying with laughter. at one point, the mother of the little boy yelled at him;

give it to her hard. if you break it, i will pay for it.

and we worry about Miley Cyrus.

So there are only bad parents in the DR or they are the only ones that exist here because you saw a bunch of people in one place??? Good grief.

So, i want to amend my prior post. I have been utubing this twerking thing. I do not want to be an old fuddy duddy, but this is just plain old nasty. At any age. However, i do now clearly see why this is so alarming among little children. It just seems a degree too much...

I have been schooled.

And it is not lost on me that the term "schooled" is a linguistic equivelant of twerking..

Reminds of a few years ago.

I was standing in line in the supermarket and this young girl of no more than 7 years ago was singing:

" I do not need no five minute man" lol

I am pretty sure she did not know what exactly the words meant. hahahahahahaha

is that the second verse to

don't want no short d*ck man?

she was listening to momma complaining, i guess.

Miley doesn't care any more than the parents of these children who let them dance like that.

Why should Miley care as much or at all about the children of others. It is up to the parents to shield what they do not wish their children to see, or be influenced by. The Dominican Republic is terrible at guiding its kids, well, infact it's people in general.

Absolutely. So many parents complain that their children watch crap and are exposed to sex and violence on TV, as if they had no say in it or something.

I wonder why they are still selling tickets for the show. I was looking at the VIP section, only a few seats sold.

When I first saw this thread, I wondered if the "banning" was more for the tourists than the local. Basically, the tourism board proclaiming DR was not "that" sort of country, that families were welcome and encouraged to come, etc.

Personally, I think the appeal of Miley Cyrus is precisely that she makes parents uncomfortable. After all, if Hanna Montana can become a "nasty girl," then so can their precious little Becky.

It's a bit silly, actually. Miley Cyrus will have no impact on whether you did a good or bad job of parenting, and to act like she's "ruining" an entire generation will do little more than help increase her music and concert revenues.

You're all being very silly. Miley Sirus, DR? For what she represents now she couldn't sell enough tickets to put on a credible show. Her people paid the people who make the decisions to ban her show so she doesn't lose face for not selling out. This isn't anything to do with anything other than $$$$$$$$$$$ and keeping face.

yep, i get this shtick. she does not want to look cute or pretty, she wants to be loud, vulgar and rebellious. even thou i do not like her songs and i pity her flatassness i give her a pass for the revolt. it has been done countless times but it's a stage of life that just happens.

I dunno.. Just my opinion.. shes a "don't ya wanna **ck me" girl.. there are a lot of them on tv nowadays. I think that a girl playing with an enormous plastic penis on stage or dry humping a big banana doesn't have much talent when she has to resort to these type of antics onstage to get noticed. Im actually surprised that more countries didn't or don't follow suit with the DR. I don't think I'm blaming Miley nor am I suggesting that the DR is correct in their reasoning. I'm simply stating what is my opinion.

Since when did performers need talent too be successful, 90% of performers are manufactured.

Did Evel Kneivel need to jump 13 buses and break every bone in his body to get noticed? It sure helped his fame, and I'd argue he was not talented. I don't call breaking every bone in your body two or three times talented, more so stupid and desperate, but people loved him.

It's part of performance!

I think her vids are quite fun and I'm not even a teeny, tiny bit outraged...

Should I be?

Far better than the Sex Pistols when it comes to rebellious garbage, they even admitted they were bad.

Times change:
When Rossini first presented 'The Silken Ladder' some of the audience walked out in disgust as the instrumentalists tap their bows on the music stand as part of the intro.

Outrage is not what it used to be....

HUG, either you are right, or my buddy is right. he feels that there are some behind the scenes shenanigans, because promoters of concerts do not book artists wthout knowing that they can get a work permit. surely Miley did not have one, so something is fishy.
