The media has been following the spending of the Abinader government in propaganda, promotion and positioning according to its communications strategies. Actually, the media presence of the Abinader administration has followed in the pattern of the billionaire spending to generate a good word on government inherited from the previous administration. Daily advertisements promote the bounties of the Ministry of Education and the Central Bank, and you name it in government.
Now the government has a new communications director, Homero Figueroa. Figueroa announces a RD$400 million tender for strategic communication and media management.
The news of the millions in communications spending comes as the government announces tax reform (= more taxes) is imminent.
