Minister of Tourism David Collado announced the government will fund the construction of a new tourist pier in the municipal district of Caleta, La Romana province. Caleta is a public beach and restaurant area that primarily caters to the local population. The project, with an investment of RD$30,773,790, aims to boost tourism and fishing in the area.
Collado emphasized that the modern pier will have a significant economic impact on the development of tourism and fishing in Caleta and its surrounding areas. “With the construction of this pier, we are addressing a long-standing and justified demand from this municipal district,” Collado stated. “We are fulfilling our initiative to revitalize coastal areas and move away from neglecting the sea.”
