More On Efforts To Promote Sosua Internationally

What Sosua needs is more diverse ambassadors and business owners, not more arbitrary ordinances. I recall some 15 years ago that there were next to zero folks in Sosua from NYC, and as far as I can tell it was the promotion by Lou and his Shark Bar that got that demographic(like them or not) into town. In same way people like Eddy and Marco were business pioneers and opened the door to the Canadian demographic.

You need ex pats who are in your target demographic running local businesses or red flags go up. It's married couples, like the folks who own Jolly Rodgers that give Sosua the appearance of being *safe* and family friendly, not glass windows in front of the discos. If anything, that makes the town seem even more ominous during daylight hours.

Sosua can't compete with the shiny new AIs in PC and families are not going to want to be in small hotels and share the pool and restaurant with a half dozen chicas. The bars are only one part of the situation~ they are a trivial problem during daylight hours and families are not out clubbing after dark with their kids in tow.

Aside from the beach and the pool, family activities in the area are damn expensive, esp on top of what is suppose to be an *all inclusive* hotel. Again, this gets back to having the target demographic living in town to pitch daytime activities and cater to families with tour/activity businesses themselves.
