Absolutely.
In theory, the moto should be behind you. They cannot see my turn signal on the side of my car.

A moto crashed into me passing me on the LEFT as I was turning on a four lane-two way street.
That's exactly why one has to do everything slowly.

You can't make a a quick left turn, even if oncoming traffic signals you to go ahead. You must still be aware of your situation by looking at all three mirrors, and proceed slowly.

I can';t tell you how many times a driver has signaled me to turn left only to nearly hit, or get hit, by a moto I couldn't see flying by him on the right.

Same here and every driver I know in the DR... We first let the brainless moto drivers go and then move ourselves... Also, it's good to keep in mind that a car/truck is usually uncapable of moving the same way a motorbike is, so the movements of any car are much more predictable. Yes, you can speed like a maniac with car as well, but you cannot swerve quite a as quickly as with a motorbike I think
My favorite is when they pass me on the right as I am going through an intersection and immediately turn left in front of me.
