Finally bought myself a motorbike! Not quite the small engine offroader I was looking for but hey...

100% legal suzuki GSXR750. I have to say it is a bit of a minefield out there when looking for a bike so be warned. Seen about 7 but all had dodgy or fake papers. Finally found one that all checked out and got a pretty good deal!

If anyone is in the SD area and fancies a ride one weekend let me know.

Good choice! I absolutely love that bike. Remember to always carry your papers, as Frank12 so wisely suggested.

Frank, I'm trying to recall the year of a Suzuki GS 1100 I owned. It had square headlight, a "spaceship" styled instrument cluster, 32 valve inline four that was about if not the fastest thing on road at time, I'm thinking around 1984 or so?

There is a guy in Puerto Plata who might be selling an absolute flawless 1991 Suzuki GSXR 1100. It's the best version of this bike i have ever seen.

Yes I remember this bike. I had one, 1986, (GSXR 1100) Suzuki took everything off it that would slow it down. No gas guage, it wasn't water-cooled, it had an oil radiator for cooling (SACS), tac started at 3000 rpm, super lite weight and $%#$@$% fast. Coming out of second at red line you could pull a wheeley at 120mph. I had it up to 175mph, or in and around 275kph. Would love one here, but probably kill myself on it.

To the OP, you have a nice bike, just don't make it a death machine and drive real defensively.

Yes!! The GSXR 1100 was a beast during it's reign as king of the road in the 80s. A friend of mine had a Honda Hurricane 1000. Those were very big bikes.

I can't recall the model but there was an 1100 Kawasaki in that same era that was also a monster.

It is a 1998 but has the fairings from a 04, and the exhaust from a 07 I believe - but could be wrong. Its pretty sweet...
