Infections to wounds here are insidious. I've seen entire legs turn a dark hue of purple in a matter of days from a seemingly insignificant scrape.

I had it for about a week, it started to clear up but came back and it has been with me for about a week now. Even took a vitamin boost named Soladek (banned in the US but not here in the DR) to raise the immune system but that did not work. My wife has had it for nearly two weeks also but fortunately, until now, our two daughters have not had any symptoms. It is definitely one that likes to linger for a while so if you think that it has gone, think again and continue to take medication. Parecetamol 750mg seems to work well for the fever, body pains and throat. My body pains were quite intense so I used Dicloplex Forte....this strain of flu really gets into your muscles, especially your legs.

This year’s flu season is more damaging and dangerous than any other since the catastrophic “swine flu” epidemic of 2009, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Will the flu sufferers of today ultimately eclipse those of 2009? According to medical experts, the prognosis is not good. As acting CDC director Dr. Anne Schuchat put it, “almost everything we’re looking at is bad news.”
