Google canceled my Google Voice number of ten years because I can't call out from the D.R without a U.S. number that excludes Google Voice which Google needs for their 2FA. Now I am in Germany and I can't access my Wells Fargo account. A family member is helping me but this is a problem. Does anyone have a recommendation for a paid service for a US number that is not VOIP that banks and such entities will accept?

I saw that same problem coming up in the future and invested in 2 USB Security Keys.
You are usually allowed 2, so I bought 2.

Information Link

Get the USB Security Key(s) and then work on getting them setup, U.S. number required for setup.
Maybe get on WHATSAPP with a trusted person with a text enabled U.S. Number to do it.

My bank kinda advised that they could help set them up via a call to customer service instead.
I did not try that as I still had a U.S. Google number available via computer which allowed me to receive text messages.

I set up a second computer solely using the USB Security Key.
Now a U.S. number is not required if I change computers.

Google will cancel your phone number if not used enough.
I have the Google app on my D.R. phone and D.R. computer and use it via wi-fi to keep it active,

THe USB Security Keys work great, just plug one of them into USB port and touch it when it blinks.

Sorry, this probably will not work because you can't get into your account to authorize the phone number.
Check with your bank, then get the Security Keys and call your bank back for help in setting them up.

My thoughts are to use ultra mobile carrier with three dollars a month pre pay plan using wifi-calling (which carries voice and txt over wifi). I can update again when setup if interested.

T-Mobile has free roaming almost worldwide
If you had a T-Mobile account and a second cheap phone or a dual sim phone then you can get bank texts and messages or calls.
Of course you have to pay for T-Mobile cell service. Which for those 55 or older is only $30/mo
