Does anyone have a link to the current overstay fee chart.? Even with the problems getting off the island I assume they are still charging these fees for people who got stranded?

You mean... your are not a resident? That you didn't know what was going on for several months? That ferry flights have been going on for how long?

And now someone needs a free flight back home?

Really? No one was stranded.

I'm a resident. DGM has thrown a wrench into my renewal process that has not been an issue before. The fact that the Govt was shutdown for so long and the curfew affected my ability to take the bus to SD didn't help. Just researching in case I have to leave at some point and choose to just pay to leave. Unfortunately we have been here a long time so it won't be cheap like it is for most overstayers.

Did DGM find you needed to "Regularize" your residency by any chance? Something "missing" from their records perhaps?
Most people renewing are reporting the process to be quick and easy, but for some it is not at all.

When I had to "Regularize" due to their error and data loss, I asked what my status was. The POP office told me I was a "Tourist".
(After being a legal resident for more than 15 years, that is when I decided to become a citizen.)

People on Facebook have reported that some have had to pay the exit fee and a few reported they were not asked to pay it
Just like anything else in the DR, it seems to be somewhat random.
