Excellency or not???

It is evident that you are indeed a very important person!
This commoner is on his knees marvelling your brilliance.

Well,
I've been known to be wrong!

Qoute= Cdn Gringo
, there are no familiar fast food restaurants for the kids,

upscale bars and restaurants that are air conditioned, with chefs that know how to make the 4 basics sauces,

Sosua needs a Walmart sized Super Pola,

diet coke or diet Pepsi in 2L bottles

purchase Tommy Bahama bathing suits,

puffing on genuine embargoed Cuban Cohibas and sipping Chianti.

rich gringos sipping imported cerveza end Qoute)

Being a commoner I prefer RIU hotels without a membership.
Whereas there are some in Maimon Bay the best are in Punta Cana with access to all properties, bars and restaurants when staying at the 5* properties. Of course other RIU properties 5* are available world wide.
This peasant can do better than Lifestyle "exclusive" membership.

You have in the past seemed well-informed on this project's status. Do you not have an ear to the ground now--especially regarding the potential reimbursement to or participation in this new version of the project by original unit buyers?

I am afraid I am not aware of anyone that has previously invested in that project. No idea at all how it will work out for them.

Hope they understand not to block the winds needed for kiteing and respect the delicate beach & swamp ecosystem.

You can hope and prey all you want. I seriously doubt the people
who are investing in this property/ expansion care anything about
the wind. Don't be silly.

So I imagine this investment on behalf of Lifestyles is not a sign of their due diligence showing the Cabarete is not expected to become another ghost town? bFrom what I have heard lately it seems many AIs are getting a bad rap for food quality and hygiene therefore causing illness. I also see its not just a DR problem. To me this favors the Cabarete style vacation where you can rent a nice condo/hotel on or near the beach and either cook your own or go a nice restaurant. That needs to be their niche!

That's not Lifestyles. Cabarete was chosen for a whole host of business reasons, many of which I do not know. However, location (close to the Cofresi property), size and access to the airport were prime considerations. When this opens, expect increased helicopter and limo activity activity in the area.

The typical elite Lifestyle member is not going on vacation to cook for themselves or to wander around Janet's looking for sundries. They will be able to have their bottle of Johnny Walker Green delivered to their accommodations, a chef come and cook dinner or visit a chic restaurant. Food is available all the time and is usually only a phone call the service desk away.

I don't know what the accommodation class breakdown will be but I expect it will favor 2 & 3 bedroom luxury suites some with private plunge pools. There are lots of "rooms" available at Cofresi so the Cabarete property should focus on the higher end overflow that cannot currently be accommodated down the street.

When one pays $85-$100 a day AI fees, not too many will be interested in sitting at a local establishment paying for their drinks and food for any great length of time. The economic benefit to Cabarete if significant, will be by way of employment. The same suppliers who currently supply water, booze, food and other consumables will get the contract for Cabarete as well.

As with other such announcements, we have to wait and see if this one actually results in a finished product. Several before this one were announced but did not materialized. Eg. a partnership in Cap Cana, Coco Palms. Cap El Limon in Samana was announced more than 5 years ago and is still not open. New construction at Cofresi continues at a feverish pace and the Cabarete plans should be doable, it will just be a question of how long it will take. I expect it will take awhile.

Lifestyles has done well with their brand of AI resort. Stretch Limo, private Jet at POP airport, etc. No one is going to tell them what their "niche" should be. They have already found it and it works well for them.

I am going out on a limb to suggest they will actually complete the project in Cabarete. Many structures were already built. There is a lot of finish work and the entire beach side and road overpass over the main road between the room and ocean side parts of the resort to be done.

Others can chime on how owning condos in Cabarete and trying to rent them out are doing at this point it time. That is a completely different business model than the AI resort model Lifestyles uses.

construction in lifestyle in cofresi is done with respect to the existing laws. big part of their model is individual villas so not tall structures.

also, they do not restrict the access to the main cofresi beach, to the side of ocean world. locals can use the beach but cannot enter hotel property.

1- The old Camino del Sol project will be rebuilt and opened under the Bahia Principe banner ...
2- Casa Laguna was sold to Russian group and works strated there.

Cabarete is coming out of hibernation.

Whats Cabarete East like as for beaches but moreso for safety/crime. Aprox. 1 mile east of Janets?

I'm in that area quote frequently and it is certainly run down and doesn't strike me as a particularly inviting area to live at present. On the other hand, there are no constant reports of killings, robberies or other serious crimes so it can't be all that unsafe as a general statement. Individual results may vary of course.

Work started at the site about a week ago, and I assume it is for the Lifestyle project, so it looks like this is taking shape pretty quickly and is a reality.

Are you referring to the Cabarete East condos where Martinis is located? If so, it is a nice place and not part of the discussion regarding Jardin Deportivo and any resorts there coming back from the dead.
