In order to be a low cost carrier they need ONLY NEW planes and if they want to fly 50 internarional airports, thinking that there are 36 counties in the Western Hemisphere, it is a very loud announcement.

Negative. Allegiant started with used planes. Volotea same. We are not talking about operating new planes 10 years down the road, but to start up - they don't need factory new planes. But also 20 year old clunkers. What they need is "newish" by aviation standards, aircraft that went through the first round of leasing (usually 6-8 years) and are after their major D check done recently. Something like 8-10 year old planes are perfectly fine.

Yes they started that way, but Las Vegas flying is no longer the main thing for them. Still important, but sunny destinations in general is the question of the day. And honestly, your nick suggest some knowledge about aviation, so you should know an 8 year old plane after its first D check is not old at all.

And you are going to compare Ryanair with FlyCana. Don't be silly. Ryanair buys the aircraft (737) at such prices and in such quantities, that when they sell their 5 year old planes at market rates they recoup their original purchase price and possibly even make a small profit. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Don't be offended about aviation you only have your user nick. Your knowledge hasn't even scratched the surface of all there is to know about inner working of the industry, based on the comments you make.

Such a big Dominican habit you have. In order to make conclusions you should know more about a person, not only messages in a topic about something unreal yet.

"There once was a man with a bridge to sell......"

Just for the record (and completely off topic) as a relative of the two men that engineered and built the Brooklyn Bridge (John Augustus and Washington Roebling) - that particular bridge was never "for sale" - in that there were never tolls on it. The money for its construction was raised from the governments of Brooklyn and New York--

Now - if you want to try to sell/buy ANOTHER bridge --

But - it was a Long Con -https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=I%20have%20a%20bridge%20to%20sell%20you

Another airline to the US - Just what this market needs.

I don't want to pay less. I want to pay more for newer well maintained planes, a professional crew that doesn't find it necessary to entertain the passengers with jokes and a song, a decent on board food service, and most importantly a better class of well behaved passengers. I don't see any of this with flycana.

This island needs more flights to places like Mexico, Jamaica, Cuba, central america etc. Another flight to NY, please shoot me now.

If they want to charge super low fares like $49, I'd pay that to fly to Santo Domingo or Punta Cana instead of taking the bus any day of the week. This country needs a milk run airline between the 5 main population zones not another flight north. For that price, I'd even take more frequent overnight trips around the DR just for fast food and a change of scenery.

Before the Samana highway was built, there were flights from SDQ up to Portillo outside of LT and Las Galeras - I took it a number of times. Are they not still in operation? I guess it is only less than 3 hrs on the Samana highway via bus - and they leave every hour (although it is really hard for folks to actually FIND where they leave from - behind La Sirena in the Zone)
