Looks like Arajet is gonna have headache soon. This looks interesting but the owner is in Miami though.

The problem at SDQ, no room. They need to expand the airport, possible add 2nd terminal on other side that would solve everything.

It says they’ll be based in Puerto Plata, might be a long time before SDQ has to worry, especially with only 2 planes.

Sadoavi, what a ridiculous name. Arajet works as a name, but any name that starts in Sad is asking for trouble.

If it will depend mostly on English speaking travellers, then yes.

Dominicans? Um… Alofoke is a normal word invention in the DR and many Dominicans know the word but have no idea what it really says since “foke” means nothing in Spanish, but it comes from an English word that isn’t very nice. That same word in the USA can be an issue (especially the “foke” part) and might get a movement going against the normalization of that word.

With that said, I do think they could had invented a nicer sounding name than Sadoavi. Companies can use a different name than their legal name as their commercial name. Maybe it will go through a name change some time in the future.

Pretty much everything in aviation is in English, and most non-English speaking airlines do everything in English as well as their own language (ie safety announcements, signs, websites etc. etc.). So anyone with a week's training in marketing would suggest you pick a name that works in English as well as your own language.
