I believe you but I don't see anything on listindiario about the senate passing anything. last I read was they would meet on Sunday to consider the resolution which should pass easily.
Senate to approve tomorrow.

Mañana, domingo, será conocida por el Senado, donde están dadas las condiciones para ser aprobado sin oposición.

Then why are you posting in a bunch of threads that the Senate has passed the resolution when clearly they haven't yet? NO doubt they will just a bit disingenuous to be saying it has passed when it hasn't yet. That how misinformation and confusion starts.

With the infection rate as it is. People need to wear masks whatever the senate say. This virus is airborne

Everyone knows , or should by now, that simple masks don't protect the wearer.

The reason for masks it to reduce the amount a person with CV19 puts into the air.
Even a cheap cloth mask does help and that is the reason for the requirement.

I thought everyone knew this by now, but obviously not.
Was going to say exactly the same thing, but you stole my thunder. Anyway, the poster you replied to is a sabelotodo, so, I would have been wasting my time.

I LITERALLY JUST CHECKED the website, and recommend you do the same. No recommendation of any mask of any type.
regardless of whether there
Who cares...seriously there are those of us who do look for these forums/posts for updated info. I truly do not like wearing a mask but I will. If not for me, then for those around me.
No one likes wearing the masks. Science is they are effective in reducing community spread.

Anything on your face, eyes, etc the mucus membranes reduces risk. How much, obviously many factors. An old wife beater with with a pair of ray bans can help save you from particle matter if someone sneezes on the bus close to you, plane or whatever.

They provide some piece of mind. Science does not talk. It needs repeatable experiments to confirm/deny hypotheses. If you can cite those, please do.
They do keep us more aware. In Las Terrenas if it was not for the masks I would easily forget about it. Santo Domingo is very different.

And if the wife beater is big you can just hide behind him.

I don't understand the resistance to wear masks in the Dominican Republic, is it just guests in the country who are resistant?. I see lots of people in Santo Domingo wearing masks. Be thankful your not in Tulum, Riviers Maya, 36 hours in jail for refusal to wear a mask. Because people were not listening to the advice, case starting rises again fast.

No one understands the resistance to wearing masks anywhere in the world because it is contrary to common sense.

Countries around the world are getting serious about fines.
Heard this am that the UK now has a $65 usd fine for no mask.
Punishment for behavior that hurts others is long over due.
Time to wear the mask and stop whining about rights.
There will always be people who will not cooperate but we should have a vaccine in a few months.
Not that I expect any cooperation but strict enforcement with fines will work.
