It is not on the beach. It is near the Circle where Melia is near Cocotal. Strange location...........

Anyone familiar with this new resort? Was this another resort that changed names?

This was the former Paradisus Palma Real The Reserve. Stayed there some years ago. It is off the beach but inside the Sol Melia complex. At the time, it was the one of the higher end resorts and a part of the Melia chain.

I remember this resort, not near the beach. It was/is a nice resort but people complained about the distance to the beach.

Beach 750 meters (half mile) from room
Hotel rooms are 750 meters (half mile) from the beach. The closest point in the hotel to the beaches is about 500 meters, but then its about another 250 meters to the rooms.

Recent review to prove my point.............

If you knew anything you would know that the ocean is on other side of the road and quite a walk. As usual "Hot Air".............
1. Actually I do know and all you need to do is click on the link of my post above to see where it is. I also stayed there while building my home and the new Zel will now incorporate the swim out suites of the former Paradisus Palma Real The Reserve.

2. On the other side of the road at Palma Real Villas and on the golf course at Cocotal was where I had a home.

As to your posted "review" from ZEL for March 2024, perhaps they meant another resort because ZEL did not even open until December 2024.

But continue to spout about things you do not know.......and make snide remarks............... or post that there never was a hurricane that hit Punta Cana.....or.............I think you get the picture.

Just click the google maps link..........it could not be easier.....for most.

I live in Cocotal and have had a residence here way before this place. In fact I am posting from Cocotal and you are DEAD WRONG......... The place is across the road from the Melia complex. But keep posting your "Hot Air'...........And by the way the review..........

Given the relatively long distance from the beach, does that make it cheaper?

Click the link I posted.

Cocotal/Palma Real Villas where I too lived was mainly accessed after you left the Melia/Paradisus complex and went half way around the rotary on the road that separated them Avenida Alemania. That was, at the time, the main entrance to both.

The current new main entrance which was on the back side of Cocotal/Palma Real Villas was originally for only workers and construction vehicles.

Click the link and try to tell people with a straight face that Zel is on the other side of Avenida Alemania. Zel is next to what once was Paradisus Palma Real, now Paradisus Gran Cana which is next to the Sol Melia Caribe and Sol Melia Tropical.....all with beach access without crossing any "road."

Click the google maps link....please.

Wherever it is you can come down and put on your sandals or flip flops and walk the Half Mile to the beach, take a swim and then walk another Half Mile back to your room,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If they don’t offer free transport to the beach, then they should consider it. This resort is about as far from the beach as some of the rooms in resorts like the Hard Rock but the Hard Rock has a train for anyone not feeling like taking a hike just to get to the beach.

Probably there are other resorts in the area where some of their rooms as a far from the beach or more or less as this resort.

The other thing about hotels in Bávaro (generally in the DR) is that they aren’t like in Cancun (a wall of highrises.) Relatively few of those that stay in beachfront resorts actually have “amazing beach views” from their room. Maybe in the new one being built in Macao that will be the case.

Actually, there are quite a few of the resorts that have "amazing beach views" but you pay for that view.
