I must begin by thanking the members of dr1 who always are available to give us support, whether it is by donations of books, or barrels, or supporting children whose families do not have the resources to pay for their children to attend our little school. It is interesting to note, at the end of each year, family economics play no role in which child succeeds and who struggles. Thus, the early education we provide is creating opportunities for all children to build on when they enter the public schools. In other words, we are building a strong foundation for each child's further education.

Registration for the next school year is ending this Friday. Already we have 7 children in need of scholarships in order to attend. The salary range for these families is between 12,000-18,000, (less than $310 a month) some with several children.

Our monthly cost for each child is 3,000 pesos. This includes bus transportation on our guagua, all school supplies, such as crayons, scissors, paper, workbooks, etc. and mid morning snack. We charge parents 10 months a year, and they pay only when school is in session. For children who receive scholarships, we require parents to volunteer once a week, preparing snacks and washing dishes. One mother who is an accountant with a 3 month old baby at home will be volunteering by doing our bookkeeping while at home.

Would you consider helping these children by providing either a full or partial scholarship? Please. A full scholarship would be 30,000 pesos or Approximately $500 USD. If you are not able to contribute that amount, you could provide a partial scholarship. We are grateful with any and all contributions.

In turn we will send you a photo of the child you are supporting and give you a brief story of the child and his/her family. Typically twice during the year we send updates. And of course, you will see the graduation video.

If you are able to help, send me a private message. I hope by helping these children, the goodness returns to you in abundance. And thanks, from the bottom of my heart.
