I have known of Thomas Madiou’s various volumes “History of Haiti,” but never was able to read it because the original is in French and their were no translation to Spanish or English. At least no translation to Spanish came to an end concerning 2 volumes. Victoria Flores has translated Volume 6: 1821-1826 and Volume 8: 1843 -1846. No question these volumes were translated to Spanish first because they cover years when existed the Haitian Domination 1822 - 1844 in the DR, which technically makes Haitian history in this time also Dominican history.
