So much for travel not returning to normal.
There are more than few posters with mud in their eye up in here over this issue.
:ROFLMAO:
And they are using the Embraer 175.
Which is scheduled to be phased out and replaced by the Airbus A220 or the Embraer 190
MDCY has a runway length of 9843 feet.
You can fly a 777-200 out of there.
So there is plenty of room for growth.
Just saying...

Let's hope it's sustainable! We will definitely take the flight if it's still available later this year

I remember years ago when Jet Blue announced their non-stop flights to El Catey from New York City and Miami. It seemed like all the real estate agents in Las Terrenas were giddy, looking at new car brochures and ready to open the champagne bottles.

Ha! That fizzled out like the infamous golf course fiasco that ensued.

I wouldn't suggest anyone incur any debt they cannot afford because of a projected increase in tourist numbers.
But, airlines do have people who have jobs to figure out the best and most profitable routes.
And they may even have AI to help them out with that.
IN MY OPINION (had to get that out before the trolls wake up) the 🇩🇴 remains the most highly developed affordable vacation location in the area.

I used to fly here ---- PHL to Pto Rico and a puddle jumper to Samana....AA, I think
Cancelled .... my one flight had 4 pax

I loved the JB JFK-AZS route - Wed & Sat..... too cheap
They switched to PUJ

The Samana problem is lack of hotel space..... needs more beds to sustain the needed flights

Yes, this country is a preferred destination for the budget traveler.

The new gov't is trying..... and succeeding in some areas
Better than we had before - say I

AA has increased flights from CLT and PHL into SDQ, that will give so more options to those people and Dominicans that do not live where are living the most of the Dominicans, also United now is flying from IAD into SDQ.
